It was a long hot summer Saturday, but it was super fun. My sister slept over and since she is used to getting up everyday at 6am for parenting duty, she was dressed and ready for eggs at 7:30. It was a struggle to find anything open at that hour, but we settled for the neighborhood diner.
Next stop was the Renegade Craft fair in Williamsburg. By the time I got there armed with cherries for Catherine, the sun was brutal but the urge to shop was too powerful. I’m so used to buying my wardrobe at H&M lately, so the prices were a little steep for me, but everything there was handmade and super original. I hope they have it next year.
Last but not least, I found my birthday girl/roomie Chris and after my second cold shower of the day, we headed to Prospect Park with vino in our backpacks to see the New Pornographers sans Neko Case. We stretched our picnic blankets as far as they could go when an army of Chris’s friends arrived. After the show, we moved the after-party to our happenin’ backyard. I would love for this “backyard after-party thing” to become a trend.
