Watch Me Turn 30, by Amy M.
ABOUT THIS SITE
I inherited this site from the lovely Holly P., whom you all know. I'm a photo/sports freak who needed a creative outlet. Thought it would be cool to record my thirtieth year, which will be action-packed!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I'm, Amy, I'm 29, and I call beautiful Brooklyn home. Brooklyn will be featured a lot, so get ready. As will my friends, family, photographers, famous athletes, Asia, and the Caribbean. Not in that order though.

DAY 202  |  August 31, 2005
I thought seriously about joining the National Guard today. Pretty much, besides sending money, that was the only other method of helping New Orleans I could think of. But then of course, I would have to go to Iraq. This is mostly what the National Guard is for; to help the country to get through natural disasters. Now it sounds like New Orleans is turning into Falluja. Every story I heard was worst than the last. The one that hit me the most was a woman lost her home and had no where to go, but she had no idea where her husband or children were. They got separated when the water level rose. She was desperately looking for them on a New Orleans highway completely alone. Iím sure there are a million stories similar to hers. How awful.
