I think I have hit a turning point in my surfing life. After some early nervousness and low confidence, I gained some focus and finally listened to some helpful pointers and stood up, times. Granted, I didn’t really stand comfortably on the board, but the victory of the day was I really understood how to catch the wave. And once I did, I was flying. Here are some keys to success:
-Paddle like my life depends on it and then paddle 3 or more strokes for good luck.
-Don’t get up until you feel you like the wave has got control.
It became more fun then scary by the end of the day. So far a good start to the long weekend…
